I Tried The Ultimate Self-Cleaning Litter Box + Fall Fashion Week
I was honored to partner with CATLINK to test and review their Scooper Luxury Pro-X self-cleaning litter box.
Meow, hello, and welcome to my latest and greatest newsletter to date. Today, I will be reviewing a self-cleaning litter box from CATLINK, so you can see why these machines are worth the investment. Not only do these high-tech litter boxes save you time by cleaning out waste on their own, but their accompanying app also provides a lot of useful health information.
Before we get started on my litter box review, I wanted to share this little slice of fall fashion with you:
CATLINK Scooper Luxury Pro-X
I prefer my litter box being cleaned daily, but I know it can be a tedious and smelly chore. My mom has to grab the scooper, biodegradable waste bags, handheld vacuum, and fresh litter (preferably Paco & Pepper’s natural cat litter, which I reviewed in my last issue here).
However, with the advanced technology these days, you can find a range of self-cleaning litter boxes on the market that will take care of this task for you. Maintaining a clean litter box regularly is not only beneficial for the cat, but it helps manage odors too.
I was meowing in pure bliss when CATLINK reached out and asked if I would be interested in trying their Scooper Luxury Pro-X. After I checked out the many benefits of their high-tech cat products, I was happy to shake paws and share my thoughtful review!
CATLINK sets themselves apart with a sleek and modern design that gently tumbles the interior contents in each direction to shake the clumps and solid waste down into a bag below. The rest of the litter is filtered through a screen, with two screens available for different types of litter, and the machine evens out the remaining litter when the globe rotates back into place.
Important safety note: There is a viral video online that shows a dangerous self-cleaning litter box with a front panel that comes up when cleaning, but this brand’s litter box is not the same. The CATLINK litter box was built with safety in mind, both in the general design of the product and with auto sensors.
The litter box only gently tilts side to side with a filter and hole for the waste bag in order to filter out the clumped waste. The front panel does not move up or become a hazard. In addition, when I have tried to step on the litter box or inside the front when it is still cleaning, the machine will pause and the error light on the front control panel will flash. You just have to manually start it up again to complete the cycle.

Setting up the litter box is really very simple. You just plug the machine into a standard outlet, allow the unit to test cycle, then fill it to the appropriate line with clumping litter.
Then, on the large control panel on the front right side of the unit, or on the accompanying CATLINK app, you can select between Automatic (Kitty symbol), Manual, and Empty mode. The Automatic mode will sense every time your cat exits the litter box, and it will automatically clean itself after so many minutes (this can be changed in the app). The Manual mode allows you to manually clean the litter box by the simple push of a button. The Empty option makes it quick and easy to clear out the litter and start over fresh.

The CATLINK app
I visit the litter box several times a day, but my mom doesn’t always know or see me doing so. In fact, when she is asleep or gone at work, I make quite a few bathroom breaks that she has no idea about. Unbeknownst to her, I could be making too many breaks, which indicates there may be a health problem that my mom really does need to know about.
The accompanying CATLINK app provides an update every single time it senses that your cat visits the box, as well as how long they were at the box, and even how much they weigh. This feature is great because it is important to keep cats at a healthy weight, like I previously outlined here. The ability to track how often your cat is visiting the litter box and how often it needs to be emptied is also an important piece of information that this app provides. You can simply download the app and connect the device through your WiFi connection.
The app has the ability to monitor multiple cats, as well as different CATLINK devices. It also regularly tells you if the litter is full or needs to be replaced, along with the current temperature and humidity.
The accompanying CATLINK stairway also props up nicely against the front of the litter box, providing an easy step up, as well as a surface that collects litter as sort of a doormat. You can easily open and empty the ramp once litter starts building up.
Cleaning out waste
The CATLINK litter box gently tilts side to side to filter out waste, allowing the natural force of gravity to pull down the clumped waste into a hole and waste bag below. Sometimes, the waste may get stuck, but the globe has interior panels that move in and out to help remove waste from the sides.
When you want to empty the litter box completely, you can simply select the “Empty” option through the app or on the front panel, and the unit will dump everything into the bag below. Swapping out waste bags is very simple by pulling out the bin and replacing it with another bag.

Watch me unbox the CATLINK Scooper Luxury Pro-X:
These units do not come cheap, but they are very much worth the price. They remove the need to manually clean the litter box every day or two, saving you both time and energy for more playtime and snuggles.

My Instagram Furrend of the Week: @extraordinarilyordinarykittens
This week, I want to give a loving paws up to my fellow rescue furrends Bocelli and Big Louis Braille. Their kind mom sent my mom some copies of their children’s book, The Extraordinarily Ordinary Kittens, to be donated to my mom’s workplace.
This sweet story, written from the perspective of a rescue dog named Sneakers, focuses on the family’s adoption of two blind kitties. You can find the book on Amazon here for both Kindle and in paperback. In 2024, the author is donating all of the profits to the organizations that supported the blind kittens before they found their forever home.

Thank you for reading my newsletter this week! I spend a lot of time putting together these newsletters (well, my mom does, I just lay next to her and nap). We always appreciate that our subscribers read and enjoy them! Please take a moment to share this newsletter on your social media and let everyone know about the many benefits of these self-cleaning litter boxes. It would mean more to me than a bag of chicken treats!
Sneak peek: My mom is attending the POP Cats festival in Portland this weekend and will be taking lots of photos and videos of all the awesome cat things she finds. Stay tuned for a full review in my next upcoming issue!
