Meow, hello and welcome to my latest and greatest newsletter. This week, I’m going to change things up a bit and add some exciting new segments, including my Weekly Meowsings, where I will share short stories from my life in the past week; a Rescue Cat Spotlight, where I will feature new kitties every week that need a new home; and Ask Luke, where I will answer questions from my beloved followers.
I know you’re excited because you’re still reading this, so I’m gonna zoomie right into it.
Weekly Meowsings
In this brand new segment, I want to share some of this past week’s highlights from around the house. I know you see all these photos of me and think how perfect I am (this is true), but my mom wants to share all the other funny things I do when the cameras aren’t recording.
This week:
I’ve decided that I am my mom’s personal alarm clock. As a courtesy, I’ve been jumping on her every hour in the early mornings and then jumping back off the bed. I will also stand by the bedside directly facing my mom’s face and meow loudly throughout the morning. Think you can just lock me out? I will scratch at the doors with full force. Sometimes, mom will get up and refill my kibble, but she knows that’s not what I want. I need playtime, and I need it between 4-6 a.m.
I’ve been repeatedly taking my mousey and drowning it in my water bowl. I like to paw at it and imagine that it’s trying to get out but can’t swim. I am a master hunter.
I’ve become more of a picky eater. Even though I typically devour my food within minutes of it being served, I have been refusing my Temptations chicken entree for hours, making it seem like I’m not going to eat my dinner at all. But in reality, I’m holding out for something better. Maybe a lickable treat or Sheba Perfect Portions will come my way. After several hours, I’ll lower my standards and eat whatever’s in the bowl.
I got a brand new carrier case from Machamie, which I am excited to try out and review in an upcoming newsletter. Stay tuned (while I stay cozy!)
Rescue Cat Spotlight
As a former shelter cat myself, I’ve decided to add a regular section where I will spotlight a sweet rescue cat who deserves a good home like me. I will try to showcase kitties from different areas, so you never know who might see this and find their new best friend.
This week, I would like to introduce you all to Booth, who is currently at the Seattle Area Feline Rescue. According to their adoption profile, “Booth is a cutie who likes to stay up late batting her ping pong ball around. This kitty has experience with dogs.” Look at that gorgeous face below! You can learn more about adopting this sweet kitty on Seattle Area Feline Rescue’s website.
Ask Luke
Finally, I would like to introduce a segment where I answer all of your burning questions. I posted an “Ask Me Anything” on my Instagram story, and I have detailed the Q’s and A’s below.
Q: Why are you so good-looking?
It’s natural, really. Genetics. Having a happy and healthy home has also contributed to my good looks. I also like to groom myself regularly to stay looking sharp.
Q: Do you have a harness or leash to go outside? Do you like being outside?
I do have a harness, but I absolutely hate going outside. My mom and pops tried to take me out on my birthday, and I instantly freaked out. As soon as my mom picked me up to stop me from yanking so hard on my leash, I sunk my claws right into her neck and shoulder, leaving deep puncture wounds. After that whole mess, they’ve been reluctant to take me out again.
Q: Where were you adopted from?
I was adopted from the Lincoln County Animal Shelter in Newport, Oregon, located on the Central Oregon Coast (US). It was just a small and cramped manufactured home that has been renovated extensively since I was there. Over the years, my mom has found many ways to help support them.
Q: Favorite toy? (We are always looking for new toys!)
I’m obsessed with any interactive toy that comes on a wand. One of my all-time favorites is this cheap Cat Dancer toy that I have lovingly named Mothy. Mothy is just some cardboard pieces rolled up and placed on spring steel wire. It bounces easily and kind of looks like a moth when I’m swatting at it. Check out the Instagram reel below to see it in action.
Q: What is your favorite wet food?
My favorite is Sheba Perfect Portions, but I always enjoy the Nulo Signature Stews too. They’re a little more expensive than other big-name brands, but they have better ingredients, and the quality and taste is clearly superior. I’m also a sucker for a good Temptations lickable treat.
Your weekly inspurration
If it doesn’t serve you, knock it off the table.
Share me with your friends!
Thank you for reading my newsletter this week, furrend. Nothing tastes as good as chicken and success. I’m excited to introduce these new segments, and many more, as well as bring back some old favorites like my Luke The Rescue Cat cartoon. Keep an eye out in your inbox for my future issues!
My newsletter is small but mighty—please take a moment to share this with your friends on social media and spread the word. It would mean more to me than a sunny spot on the windowsill!
lol at your weekly inspurration. We need to learn to be more assertive and knock things off more. Like that useless thing the hoomans call "phone" that they always stick in our faces
